The Hyundai Azera, also called as Hyundai Grandeur is a full-sized sedan model produced by Hyundai motor company, since 1986.

First Generation (1986-1991)

The initial Hyundai Azera model was introduced in the model year 1986 and the models during this generation were produced in Korea. The standard engine to the model include a 2.0 liter I-4 version, while it also offers 2.4L I-4 and 3.0L V6 engines as optional. The standard engine can be mated to either 5-speed manual or to a 4-speed automatic transmission. It had the overall length of 191.5 inches, width of 67.9 inches and 57.1 inches.

Second Generation (1992-1998)

The second generation Hyundai Azera model offered various body styles and trim versions. The exterior dimensions and the engine options were unchanged. The exterior styling of the model was freshened in 1992.

Third Generation (1998-2005)

The third generation Hyundai Azera model was also called as Hyundai Grandeur XG. It was designed and produced based on the platform of Kia Opirus. The standard engine to the model was a 2.5 liter I-4 version. With the powerful engine, the mid-sized car can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in a time span of just 8.5 seconds and the top speed of the model was electronically limited to 140 miles per hour.

Fourth Generation (2006-Present)

The mid-sized car, Hyundai Azera is totally redesigned in 2006. It shares its basic platform with the Hyundai Sonata.

The Hyundai Azera model is one of the top selling models outside China, Middle East and China. New for 2009 include four-wheel independent suspension and more powerful 3.8 liter Lambda V6 version that comes mated to 6-speed automatic transmission with Shiftronic manual gear selection. The top speed of the model is 250 kilo meters per hour and it can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 6.0 seconds.
